Twice in The Space Of An Hour I Got A Call From My Blog On ActiveRain.

So I am driving home this afternoon when my phone rings and the young person asks is this Riverwood Swim Club?Riverwood Swim Club

I said no and asked where she got my number

"On the Internet, I was looking for information about Riverwood Swim Club and found your website"

Well as I was driving I was not able to look up the number for her but I gave her an idea of where to look.

She found me with this post,

Riverwood Athletic Club in Clayton NC

Later on I get a call " hello I live in North Fort and I wonder could you tell me who does the landscaping at the entrance to Southwick Farm?" So I said I did not know but I would be happy to find out,"Where did you get my number I asked?

" Oh, I've been reading your blog on Localism, very good!"

Southwick Farm EntranceHe found me with this one,

Southwick Farm Subdivision in Clayton NC

This comes a week after I get a call from the listing coordinator for one of the top agents in Raleigh asking if I could tell her if this subdivision had an HOA. Where did you get my number I asked?

"I googled it and your blog came up"

She found me with this one too,

Southwick Farm Subdivision in Clayton NC

So although I didn't get a listing or a sale from them it shows that people are finding my blog and reading it!

114 Kirkland Court In Wyndfall on a Snow Day Using Photosynth

So I'm playing with Photosynth, and it looks pretty cool, does anyone else use it? I wonder does it have any SEO benefit. It snowed here in most of North Carolina on Friday night and as I have two listings in Wyndfall I took the dog out Saturday morning for a snow walk and snapped these pictures of 114 Kirkland Court, later I went to 261 Wyndfall Lane.

Fortune Names Cary, North Carolina's SAS the Number One Employer In America

Fortune Names Cary, North Carolina's SAS the Number One Employer In America!

SAS headquarters is situated on a 300 acre campus in Cary, North Carolina just down the road from Raleigh and Research Triangle Park.

It has long been known for the perks it provides to it's employees, and by the sound of things the benefits have kept pace with the companies growth. For example the three on site cafeterias feed the workers and you can order take out to bring home, I know somebody who works there and his wife is partial to that one. You can pick your child up from the daycare or preschool right there and bring them to lunch.

There is a health care center with physicians and nurses and lab technicians, and nutritionists and physical therapists...all free.

SAS is the largest privately held software company with revenues of about 2.3 billion, the average work week is 35 hours, dry cleaning, car detailing, UPS depot, book exchange are all available on campus.

Cary is considered one of the top cities in America with low crime, great schools, green spaces, shopping and lots of homes from townhomes to custom built mansions.

Stanton Homes is a local builder who builds in a number of Cary neighborhoods and Penny Hull represents the builder. And when it comes time to speak with a Mortgage Broker, Steve and Eleanor Thorne have Cary in their blood.

Do Open Houses Work? They Did Yesterday, I Think!

Do Open Houses Work? They Did Yesterday, I Think!

(Open Houses Going On In Clayton And Garner Today.) This was the title of my post yesterday that I did not have time to finish ...So, an update.

114 Kirkland Court, Clayton NC

We held two Open Houses yesterday Saturday 23rd January  the first was at 114 Kirkland Court in the Wyndfall Subdivision in Clayton. This three bedroom two bath ranch is listed at $149,900. It sits on about an acre of lovely trees and grass with the entire back yard fenced with privacy shadow-box fence. There is a shed, rain barrels, and a great play house for the kids.

Bob Peretic hosted the event and as I was leaving to show houses a couple pulled up. They looked at Bob and said "you look nothing like your picture". It turns out they live in Wyndfall (my neighborhood) and have been getting all my post cards about open houses, just listed etc and are now thinking of putting their home on the market and wanted to meet the neighborhood Realtor!114 Kirkland Court, Clayton NC

So hopefully I will be able to help them and if we get the listing I will co-list with Bob who just started in Real Estate.

Now I live in this neighborhood and have been selling in here for three years, but the owner of the house  Bob was in, I met at another open house in the neighborhood.

100 StoneCutter Court, Garner NCThe second Open House was at 100 Stonecutter Court in The Woodlands Subdivision in Garner and this was held by Jerome Robinson, who lives in the neighborhood. This is a great three bed two bath home that has been updated with new paint carpets, and is move in ready. It is listed at $127,000 and is literally minutes from downtown Raleigh. He is holding another Open House there today from 2-5pm.

So I have not heard how yesterday went....but, the house has been on the market for two months with no showings and this weekend two showings, coincidence, I don't think so. I firmly believe that you must generate activity around your listings.

I will keep you posted.

New Listing in River Dell Subdivision, One of Only Four in the last Two Years

New Listing in River Dell Subdivision, One of Only Four in the last Two Years.143 Tally Ho Drive by David H O'Doherty

That's right there have only been three homes listed and sold through the TMLS system in the last two years in River Dell. One reason people stay is obvious as you approach the subdivision with it's white rail fence and tree lined streets. The homes come in a range of styles and the lots are from an acre up.It has a Selma address but is closer to Clayton and all the amenities that go along with the area.

This great house at 143 Tally Ho Drive is listed at $165,000. It features three bedrooms two bathrooms a large dining room surrounded by windows, french doors that open to the huge patio in the back yard.

A detached 20 X24 foot garage is large enough to work in, the yard is flat with a mixture of trees and lawn. The schools as of the time of writing according to the Johnston County Schools website are River Dell Elementary, Archer Lodge Middle and Clayton High, there is a brand new high school scheduled to open in 2010 which might change things.

Ole Mill Stream Subdivision in Clayton NC Has Some Amazing Homes.

Ole Mill Stream Subdivision in Clayton NC Has Some Amazing Homes.Ole Mill Stream by David H O'Doherty

Homes in this neighborhood range in price from the high $200,00 to the high $800,000. The subdivision is surrounded by woods and is bordered by the Neuse river, so some of the homes have water access. The ones I have seen have a long stretch of land with trees opening up to the river.

Ole Mill Stream by David H O'DohertySome of the homeowners have built fire pits and seats from logs to enjoy the many evenings outside. This is a neighborhood for people who like the outdoors and don't care for a lot of restrictions. There is a pool but it is small!!

The homes were started in the late nineties and continue to today. The area around Clayton is starting to Ole Mill Stream by David H O'Dohertysee a resurgence from the downturn and is poised to be a growth leader in the future with easy access to major highways, close proximity to Raleigh and Research Triangle Park and a short two and a half hour drive to the Carolina Coast.
