We April Fooled My Clients at their Home Inspection on April 1st!!
Forgot about this little gem! My clients have purchased their NEW home, a new construction move up and they Love, Love Love this house. Now what better way to make them feel really warm and fuzzy about their new home than to pull an April Fool's on them.
The Home Inspection was scheduled for April 1st so I called the Inspector, Jayme Clark with Clear Choice Home Inspections and gave him my thoughts, he was already thinking about something and said he would take care of it.
Now I know these people, he is meeting them for the first time so he's not going to know what they are like, well Greg shows up ready to rip somebodies head off at work. He had a worker not show up for a job and he is on the phone yelling about this and that. So I'm thinking maybe today is not the perfect day to pull a prank.
Well as the inspection goes on Greg calms down and I'm thinking the Inspector has forgotten about our little plan, but Oh no he was waiting for the grand finale! The SINKHOLE in the crawlspace.
He comes out with a grim look on his face " well I've got some bad news!" Rachel immediately says "I knew it!"
Now he didn't over sell it just quietly told them that there appeared to be a small sink hole in the crawl space and had the potential of ...............swallowing up their house!
We had them going for a while, I started to go through my files of houses they had seen, Jayme sighing and saying things like it might not happen.Ha! I could only torture them so much and so I yelled "April Fool's!" It's funny when you devastate somebodies dream, it takes a while for them to come back to the real world.
After cursing me out, Rachel turns to Jayme and says " so tell us more about the sink hole!" Eh?
