Building a Custom Home in Portofino in Clayton...A Diary, Week 7
We are now at the stage where the house is starting to take shape. The framers have been here for a couple of weeks and they are making great progress.
Steve has been here overseeing, advising, but as with the concrete team, these guys have been working so long together they barely need to speak as it appears they already know what each other is thinking.
There are a number of features starting to show through in this house, the double front doors open to a hallway that leads to the living room and a wall of windows, so as soon as you step into the house you have that beautiful view.
Steve has added arches between the living room and eat in kitchen. The storage areas that could have been ignored are getting custom treatments, like windows, etc. The deck and four season room will see a lot of love!
This is where you get the most value with a custom home built by a builder like Steve Corker who can spot something in the plans that just won’t look right and he can change it. Or as a wall is going up or a window installed he can see the real benefit of adding something as Steve did with the bay window in the kitchen.
This is a big house with a lot of space, so for the clients who want options in their living space this house has them.
Windows were installed last week, next up the electrician will start pulling wire through the house and the plumbers will, run their pipes.
