St. Patricks Day
Well here we are at another March 17th, St Patricks Day. My twenty third in America I believe. Ireland, today needs something to cheer about with the country in the bowels of a real estate induced recession, (sound familiar)!
I was in Ireland in 2007 and my hometown of Dublin was like something from a construction commercial. The skyline of Dublin City was littered with cranes and not three or four but twenty and in the suburbs every scrap of land was being developed. Guess what happened?
But enough about that, there is a new Government in charge, the Fianna Gael party in coalition with Labour, and the country will be watching them closely. Ireland is a resourceful country and it’s people, having tasted the good life of the last decade will seek it out again, although I imagine at a more somewhat restrained pace.
When I left Ireland in the Eighties, it was a miserable place for a young person with no jobs, no money, no future and it rained a lot ( still does)!. Just then the Celtic Tiger sprang into action, (we must have passed him on the way to America).
It was great to watch young people stay in the country, buy new cars, get jobs, buy houses, something that was unheard of before that. They wont allow her go back to the old ways.
I would like to help you sell your house, or help you buy a house.
