Siemens in Wendell to Add 139 High Paying Jobs.
Siemens the giant German conglomerate has announced it plans to hire 139 people at it's plant in Wendell, North Carolina. Wendell is a small rural town just outside of Raleigh, NC.
The jobs will pay average salaries of $88,000, three times the Wendell average. Siemens opened the plant in 1980 and is their headquarters for transmission, distribution, and high voltage transformers.
The Wendell plant is involved with smart grid technology a growing industry tied to the national infrastructure and its aging electric grid.
The town of Wendell has little to offer residents with regards to shopping, restaurants or housing so most folks will probably look to live in neighboring towns like Clayton and Knightdale and Raleigh.
The Eastern side of Clayton is a short ten minute drive to Wendell and offers many options for housing from Golf Communities to Pool to Equestrian.
Clayton also has wonderful Schools as mentioned in Business Week Magazine, a brand New Community Center, Cultural Center and of course plenty of shopping options.
