Black Lab Found on Covered Bridge Road in Archer Lodge.
I was driving on Covered Bridge Rd yesterday October 13th 2009 around lunch time when I spotted this beautiful dog dragging a chain about eight feet long behind him. He was darting across the road and forcing cars to slow down.
I was able to get him in my car and took him to the SPCA in Clayton. He is about a year old and seems well taken care of.
This is a no kill shelter and they will keep him until the owner is found or he is adopted. He was wearing an orange collar with no name.

He was fortunate that you found him and hopefully his owner turns up at the shelter. Would love to hear that this story has a happy ending.
David - looks like he should have an owner. Hope they can get re-united. As a pet owner it sure is stressful when your pet is lost. ~Rita

David - How nice of you to take him to the safe shelter - and brilliant to blog with his picture. We found a stray, couldn't find the owner after 2 weeks of flyers and door knocking. I never thought to post about it.
