Yeah I know you're thinking "he's crazy, February 20th!" but until you've lived here in North Carolina.

You see we get a short Winter, a nice Spring, a nice Long Summer ( it can get a little toasty) and a Beautiful Fall. So yesterday I was back out in the yard, raking the grass that will consume me in a short while, while the sun beat down. The temperature was in the Fifties and today Saturday expected to be 58 and Sunday ready....63!

So what else, well the boys played outside yesterday from the time they got off the bus until about six thirty, one didn't even come in the house. Today they likely will be outside most of the day. I might squeeze in a trip to the Logans Garden Center at Seaboard Station in Raleigh between showing houses. I will probably get seed potatoes, onion sets and carrot seeds, all things that I will spend hours trying to grow.

I have become interested in wild birds after watching them in the snow, so I would like to put up some feeders, ones that won't be a food source for the squirrels! I'll go and talk to Tony at Wild Birds Unlimited in Clayton.
Lets see what else? Yard sales will be starting in earnest soon. I plan on going to more this year it's the whole getting up at the crack of dawn thing(we'll see if that happens) it's a great way to meet people and if you are disciplined you can always find something. I bought a fly fishing rod for a couple of bucks just to try and first cast on a local pond, caught a little sunny.

Which brings me to fishing, this year I want to get the boys out much more, we have so many places around here, it is quite common to see stocked ponds in subdivisions and any one with land nearly always has a pond.
The beach! Any Hahn, Crystal Coast REALTOR was the inspiration for this post as she did a great story about the beautiful Crystal Coast. We can be on the beach in two and a half hours from here in Clayton.
Oh Yeah the other thing that's great about this time of year is houses start selling, people are out looking, and change and growth and newness is in the air.

Come and check it out, besides all this we have great affordable housing, we have all kinds of homes from townhomes to million dollar estates, we have good schools, jobs and an area that constantly gets awarded one of the best places to live.
I'll show you around.

David ~ Beautiful Carolina's. My daughter is in Wilmington and is is so nice too!
Great post - love your enthusiasm for your area, you will be hearing from me shortly with a referral!
Thanks for sharing. Home buyers from our area should be heading your way soon. Many are tired of digging snow.
David, thanks for the inspiration! Despite still having snow everywhere, there are signs of spring poking through in the Old Dominion.
Monique, we love Wilmington, so much to see and do.
MaryBeth, well thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.
Roy, tell em to leave their snow shovels there.
Craig, my brother in law lives up your way and stated yesterday that the snow is a slushy variety now and much easier to shove.
NICE! I bet you are looking VERY forward to that pool time! Cold and rainy here today and I thought we were outta the woods when we hit 70 consistently all week last week.
Renee, "cold and rainy" what's up with that?
