Twice in The Space Of An Hour I Got A Call From My Blog On ActiveRain.
So I am driving home this afternoon when my phone rings and the young person asks is this Riverwood Swim Club?
I said no and asked where she got my number
"On the Internet, I was looking for information about Riverwood Swim Club and found your website"
Well as I was driving I was not able to look up the number for her but I gave her an idea of where to look.
She found me with this post,
Riverwood Athletic Club in Clayton NC
Later on I get a call " hello I live in North Fort and I wonder could you tell me who does the landscaping at the entrance to Southwick Farm?" So I said I did not know but I would be happy to find out,"Where did you get my number I asked?
" Oh, I've been reading your blog on Localism, very good!"
He found me with this one,
Southwick Farm Subdivision in Clayton NC
This comes a week after I get a call from the listing coordinator for one of the top agents in Raleigh asking if I could tell her if this subdivision had an HOA. Where did you get my number I asked?
"I googled it and your blog came up"
She found me with this one too,
Southwick Farm Subdivision in Clayton NC
So although I didn't get a listing or a sale from them it shows that people are finding my blog and reading it!

David- The listings will come! This is just the start. Katerina
David - I have to laugh. I get calls like this at least once per week.
Today was a long distance call about the Carlsbad Strawberry Company, and I had a call yesterday on another post. I always explain to folks why my name is coming up (I wrote this article,...) and then they realize. So often they are just seeing a phone number in Google and look no further. But it sure underscores the power of blogging, even if these calls do not lead to business. I've had call for restaurants I've written about from folks wanting reservations as another example.
Jeff
I've had similar calls in regards to things that I've blogged about, a great way to be the in the center of peoples influence.
Katerina, thanks yes I believe they will in fact I have my first listing from "the Internet"
Hi Jeff, hey once we're out there, a buyer will come along and find you.
Jared, that's what this is all about, the Localism and non Real Estate stuff is so important.
ActiveRain's power is so awesome. It's a cure for the downturn.
David, it is and I think it is the way Real Estate will be in the future!
It's good to be the go to person...You have to think of a quick and flowing response to answer their question and find out "who do you know" as well
It is so cool when the calls come!
Featured in the Group "Whacked!!!"
Laura, it is! It has given me lots of ideas.
Richard, It is very cool, Thanks for the Feature.
If there were two clients in the space of an hour, you might start to feel nervous about the business-generating machine you created! Business will come.
Good things come to those who are patient. Eventually it WILL happen. Good Luck.
Hey Joetta like that commercial, where they are watching the orders click real slow and then an avalanche....bring it!
Robert, This does take time and consistency is very important too, thanks.
David - It should only continue to improve over time. Kudos to you - you're clearly doing the right things to be found on Google!
I once had a guy send me his resume. He wanted to apply for a job at a local Shopping Mall, I mentioned on my ActiveRain blog.
Sent him in the right direction, and he thanked me for my help.
I've also had people call me for bus schedules in our city.
Great post
Thats so cool, I blog about local business all the time, you never know ....
David:
Spectacular results on the blogs; and the business will follow I am sure.
Hi Jason, Guess what, I got another one last night "is this the number of the new high school?"
Terri, that is amazing, I might do a post with the train schedule in it!
Larry, It works, I have reached out to three local business's in the last two weeks and they are excited to do something.
Aaron, I believe it will, I think I can see where I need my blog to go now.
David,
How cool is this? It really shows the value of localism posts. Congrats on getting found, and keep up the good work!
David--congrats on the response you got---good news to those of us who use Localism a lot. I have been contributing a lot lately--hopefully I will start to get calls too....:)
The power of ActiveRain is there. Looks like you have started to harness it. Great job!

David,
I too am tickled pink by those types of calls - even if it isn't RE-related! The business is coming too...
David, I'm just starting on this myself. Always glad to hear results are happening. Thanks for the post.
