David ~ that thing or whatever it is would scare anyone. Yuck!
EWWWWWWWWWWWWW good caption. Please keep it in NC - we have enough scary things here, LOL
Dawn, it is a Praying Mantis and she had no fear of me in fact she looked like she was telling me to sod off!
Juli, you do have too many scary things for me I'll keep our friend!
YOWZERS! That thing is scary! Thanks... I think?!?! :O)
Yikes! There should be a warning before opening - It looks like E.T.!
The Praying Mantis has always scared me. Not only do they look weird, but that whole female eating the head of the male after mating is just too creepy.
Hi David, When the aliens first visited our world, I think they came seeking those that looked simiar. When they found the preying mantis, I think they felt at home with their little cousin. Perhaps they left or maybe stayed , who knows, but the Praying Mantis is not talking. :-)
Yikes...that one looks like it's looking for its next meal.
Sally, insects that scare me should scare you also!
Carissa, that's why I moved away!
William, wouldn't that be funny!
John, and I was not about to be the first course!
I told my husband about your post and he laughed. He said, "you know what they are... they're stick bugs." So now I know what it is. It's amazing what a close up of something can do. I didn't recognize it! LOL
Hi David - This insect looks like it has a little "back off" attitude!
Joni, I'll bet he wouldn't call it a stick bug to her face!
John, she turned her head slowly and gave me that look, I was outta there.
That literally made me yelp! Something really eerie about praying mantises....
Now that is scary.....glad to say I have never seen a close up like that...

Hi David... I do not like insects... and I don't care how beneficial they might be... let them be beneficial away from where I am.
Hi David, prying mantis not too bad, some of the spiders we have in NC bad!
Mykel, They are weird and they seem to have no fear of us.
Lori, Zoom lens baby!
Steve, come on it's not that bad...well no it is!
Dale, who ever could you mean?
Creepy, very creepy looking. What a fascinating world of creatures we live in.
