This is a fantastic photo! I don't think my dog would be as calm if she came this close to a horse! She loves to play, so I think she may end up getting schooled!

Todd, mine too, glad to do it.

Stephanie, truth be told she was really freaked out, but wanted to get to know them all the same. There were two other horses in the field behind her and just after I took this they came cantering down to see her. That was too much for her.

It is photos like that, which make me wish I could spend time in the horse's head, and the dog's head, for just 24 hours each.  I want to know what those two are thinking when they have that first encounter.

Myrl, The horse was thinking "I could so chase you!" and the dog was thinking "you could so chase me!"

Actually I have no idea what they were thinking, but the horse was pretty interested in her.

Dale, you know I just realized they are about the same age, so they could be friends!

Labs like horses have ways of communicating and making friends. We can learn so much from them. Great image.

Hi Emily, our young lab Carly, she is a little over a year was under our bed this morning asleep in a room with the door closed as I was making a sandwich on the other side of the house. I just opened the container to my Fajita steak and she was whining to get out. Incredible sense of smell, just incredible!

David,

That's a great shot!  I once had a horse that loved to chase cats.  He'd put his head down and nudge the cat along and the cat's would run.  One day he did it to a black and white "Pussycat".  No one wanted to be near him for several days after that.  Of course he couldn't understand why.  LOL
